Danforth Women’s Job Network (DW jobnet) is a network of immigrant women living and working in Toronto’s Danforth area. Community women share job search experience and other resources for helping each other break into the Toronto job market.
Our network includes:
Peer Job Coaches-women from our community who are already working at entry level jobs help other women find jobs
Peer Job Developers-women from our community find out who is hiring and pass the information on to women looking for work.
Job Counselors-help women work out realistic plans for finding immediate survival jobs and achieving long-term career goals
DW jobnet-is an initiative of Project Stepping Stone, a collaborative project of COSTI Immigrant Services and the South Asian Women’s Rights Organization (SAWRO). The initiative welcomes participation of other agencies, community partners and employers. Community women can join the network to receive training as peer workers.
Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided funding within its mandate to support community initiatives for increasing employment opportunities for people facing labour market barriers.
